Professional Experience
John McGuinness is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor at Fifth Third Private Bank. He is part of the Private Bank’s Carolina’s team working in Fifth Third’s North Hills office in Raleigh.
John has over 30 years of wealth management experience consisting of both senior leadership responsibilities and client relationship management in his work with wealthy individuals and their families .Prior to joining Fifth Third, John held similar senior client relationship roles at SVB, Citi Private Bank and Bank of America where he worked with a some of the firm’s wealthiest families providing advice on their asset and liability management as well as their investment management and legacy planning considerations.
Additionally, John held leadership roles at Bank of America where he served as National Sales Executive for its Family Wealth Advisors Group focused on clients with $50MM of investable assets where he recruited and managed 10 client teams throughout the US. Prior assignments included managing Bank of America’s Private Bank’s New York region which included P&L responsibilities, recruitment and compliance of the regions 55-person team who provided banking, investment management, planning and fiduciary services to the region’s wealth clients. Prior to joining Bank of America, John was an Executive Vice President at PNC Advisors, responsible for the Sales and Marketing. John held several leadership positions at Then Bank of New York (BNY Mellon) including President of The Putnam Trust Company, BNY’s Connecticut based bank, Head of Sales and Training for the Private Bank as well as leading the bank’s Trust, Investment Management and Retirement Administration business on Long Island.
